公開講演会「「調和のとれたバイリンガリズム」をサポートする—バイリンガル家族における言語選択、インプット、談話ストラテジーを通して（Supporting Harmonious Bilingualism through language choice, input, and discourse strategies in bilingual families）」

バイリンガル環境下で子育てをする親の多くは子供たちが二言語話者になることを強く望んでいるが、実際のところ子ども達がバイリンガルに育つとは限らない。家庭内に使用が限られる社会の少数派言語が選択されなくなり、結果、親子間の真のコミュニケーションに欠かせない言語が使われなくなる等、家族内での「調和のとれた」二言語環境が崩れてしまう。本講演では、親の言語選択、言語インプットならびに談話ストラテジーの組み合わせが、家庭内で子ども達の二言語能力を育み、調和的バイリンガリズムに貢献しうることを説明する。
Most parents raising children in bilingual families want their children to speak both languages, and to speak them well. Many children, however, do not. This negatively affects Harmonious Bilingualism within the family. This talk explains how the combined influence of language choice patterns, input characteristics, and discourse strategies used by parents can increase their children’s chances of speaking two languages within the family and thus contribute to Harmonious Bilingualism.

ブリュッセル自由大学卒業後、アントワープ大学にて修士号（英語学）、ブリュッセル自由大学にて博士号（言語学）を取得。アントワープ大学コミュニケーション科学部准教授、エアフルト大学言語学部教授を経て、現在同大学名誉教授ならびにThe Harmonious Bilingualism Network (HaBilNet) 代表。ご専門はバイリンガル、モノリンガルの言語習得、接触言語学、言語選択、家族内言語政策、継承語維持等。著書に Bilingual Development in Childhood 2021 (Cambridge University Press), Bilingual First Language Acquisition 2008 (Multilingual Matters), The Acquisition of Two Languages from Birth: A Case Study 1990(Cambridge University Press), Cambridge Handbook of Bilingualism 2018 (L. Ortega 共編)等がある。
